Insulation saves money. But only when the right measure meets the way your home is built. Pick the wrong one and you can trap damp, leave cold spots, or spend the budget where it helps least.
Our team gets it right, and your house feels it. Less heat is lost. Warmer winters. A higher BER, which lifts comfort, running costs, and resale value. Homeowners get the best outcome with insulation when it is combined with our wider renovation projects. This is why it works best inside a full deep retrofit rather than on its own.

The right insulation comes down to how your home was built, not which grant is going. The only way to be sure is to look at how your home is actually built, then match the insulation to it.
We check this in our initial consultation, before any product or price is discussed, so your budget goes where it does the most good.
Here is what matters.
BuildTech follows a clear four-step pathway, from initial feasibility through to completed construction, designed to protect your budget and keep your project on track.
Working with us means you get a design and build contractor, not a one-measure installer. The insulation is specified as part of our whole house renovation, installed to building-regulation standard, and signed off with the rest of the works by an Independent Chartered Engineer.
Our insulation gives the best return when it travels with other work. Combine measures and you get one BER uplift, one contractor, one disruption, and grants claimed together.
Insulation is the fabric-first step in a deep retrofit. Our one managed programme lifts the whole home’s rating, instead of a run of separate jobs.
When you are already carrying out a home renovation, walls and floors are open anyway. That is the cheapest time to insulate, and it is done once, properly.
Choosing a rear extension building or attic conversion means new fabric is insulated to spec while the older parts are upgraded at the same time.
Insulate before, or with, a heat pump or new windows and the whole system is sized right. Warm the fabric first, then the heating works less and costs less to run.
BuildTech takes insulation as part of our larger renovation or house extension service, with a minimum project value of €100,000. Where a home needs a full upgrade, that is where we earn our place.
Most insulation problems trace back to one thing: a single measure done without looking at the whole house. The result is damp, cold spots, or money spent in the wrong place. These are the four we fix most.
Make a home tighter without proper ventilation and moisture has nowhere to go. Damp and mould follow. Airtightness and ventilation are planned together, or not at all.
Cavity fill in a solid wall, or the wrong external system for the build, underperforms and can harm the wall. The measure has to match the construction.
Grant-funding one measure while the biggest heat loss is left alone gives a poor return. We assess the whole fabric first, then spend where it counts
Insulating the wall but leaving gaps at window reveals, floors and junctions lets heat keep escaping. The detailing matters as much as the main measure.
Most home insulation is exempted development and needs no planning permission. The one to watch is external wall insulation. It can need permission where it clearly changes the look of the front of the house, or on a protected structure or in an Architectural Conservation Area.
We confirm your planning position before any work is committed, so there are no surprises. In most cases the answer is straightforward, and we tell you clearly either way.
Where each measure usually stands:
BuildTech confirms your planning position as part of every feasibility consultation before any design fees are committed. If your insulation is exempt, we tell you plainly and save you the cost of an application.
